Bean Development
Bean Development is a monthly series of virtual classes designed to help the hourly coffee worker gain skills that they need in life or the workplace, but don’t normally have access to. Each class is held online, via Zoom. The monthly class is free to hourly coffee professionals and is recorded and captioned for our Patreon community to access forever.
Bean for Bean
Our mentorship program connects coffee professionals based on a few different factors and links them together via Qooper, a service that enables participants to create and track goals and accomplishments. This program allows folks with the time, space, and energy to help guide other folks in the industry with their skill set.
Calibration Notes
Calibration Notes is a monthly newsletter that goes out to our Patreon subscribers first, then is shared with our community at large. We accept pitches for writers to discuss any topic they would like related to in the greater coffee world, or that we think would be of particular interest to our community.
GFB Grants
Our flagship program is our emergency relief grant. At least once a quarter, Go Fund Bean provides $500 in need-based grants to hourly coffee professionals around the USA. We use a thorough application to determine each applicant’s need and give out the grants based upon who needs them the most.
The Stay Grounded Initiative
During the COVID-19 pandemic, as folks started returning to work and having to deal with the public and working in a brand new service model, it began to take a toll on the person behind the counter. Aligned with our mission to support, uplift, and defend the hourly coffee professional, the Stay Grounded Initiative (SGI) began. SGI’s purpose is to create a pathway for the hourly coffee worker who does not have access to mental health care or has lost access to mental health care due to a position change or job loss.
