Reporting Harassment or Other Conduct Violations
Contact email: cocpanel@gofundbean.org
Reports can be made by emailing GFB above, contacting a GFB board member, or filing a direct report or an anonymous report via form.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the event organizer or GFB board immediately via a direct or anonymous report.
This Code of Conduct applies to GFB spaces, but if you are being harassed by a member of GFB outside our spaces, we still want to know about it. We will take all good-faith reports of harassment by GFB members, especially the GFB Board, seriously. This includes harassment outside our spaces and harassment that took place at any point in time. The GFB Code of Conduct Panel reserves the right to exclude people from GFB based on their past behavior, including behavior outside GFB spaces and behavior towards people who are not in GFB.
In order to protect volunteers from abuse and burnout, we reserve the right to reject any report we believe to have been made in bad faith. Reports intended to silence legitimate criticism may not be investigated.
We will respect confidentiality requests for the purpose of protecting victims of abuse. At our discretion, we may publicly name a person about whom we’ve received harassment complaints, or privately warn third parties about them, if we believe that doing so will increase the safety of GFB Participants or the general public. We will not name harassment victims without their affirmative consent.
Every effort will be made to preserve the confidentiality of everyone involved, though this may not be possible through necessary actions to research or resolve the incident. Participants who report in good faith any incidences of threats, intimidation, violence, or folks who assist in its investigation, will not be subject to any form of retribution, retaliation or reprisal by GFB.
All successfully submitted online incident reports will see a confirmation page.
When a Participant submits a direct report of an incident, they will receive a follow-up email within 24 hours. This will include an estimate for how long the investigation will last based on the information reported. All investigations should take one week or less, unless otherwise stated. Anonymous reports will be investigated with the same urgency and thoroughness as direct reports.
Reports will be reviewed by the GFB Code of Conduct Panel, except in the event of a conflict of interest or if a board member is a subject of the report. In these cases, a third-party investigatory team will be engaged.
